Guidelines when using Network logo

Format:The logo must be used as provided and can never be altered. It can be resized proportionately within a document by clicking on the logo, then positioning your cursor on one of the circles in each corner.

Colour: The logo colours must be as in the file provided by the Network. If you have a white or light background, use the positive version of the logo. If you have a dark-coloured background, use the reverse version of the logo.

Placement: “White space” equal to the outside point to outside point in a cell of the honeycomb symbol in the logo must be maintained around the positive version of the logo. No text or graphics may be placed within this white space.

Minimum Size: The logo must always be large enough to be legible. It may never be any smaller than 0.375 inches (95mm) wide as measured from the far left point of the honeycomb symbol to the right of the “n” in Canadian.

Trademark: Whenever you use the Network logo, please footnote its ownership:

™ Trademark of Canadian Frailty Network (Technology Evaluation in the Elderly Network, TVN). Used with permission.

Protection Zone

The logo must maintain a protection zone around it, allowing it to stand without interference. By designating the width of the honeycomb symbol as a unit ‘x’, the protection zone is established based on the width of unit ‘x’ around the logo. No graphic or type elements are allowed within the protection zone.

Placement of Logo
When using the logo for printed and electronic materials, the logo may be used centred at the top or bottom of the page. Depending on the situation, the logo may also appear either flushed left or right.

Use of Logo
Use the positive version on light or white backgrounds. The full-color reverse logo may be used on dark color backgrounds, as well as dark areas within photographs. Avoid placing the logo on a busy or patterned background where legibility would be reduced.

Logo Options
Three versions of the logo are available for use: bilingual, English and French.

A one color logo is only acceptable when media reproduction is limited. In these cases, the logo may be reversed to white on a background that provides suitable contrast. Use of a black logo is allowed only when media reproduction is black only.
