Network Advisory Committees
To guide, manage and monitor its research and other programs, the CFN Board of Directors relies on its advisory Research Management Committee (RMC). This Committee is chaired by the Scientific Director (Dr. John Muscedere), who reports to the Board on its behalf. Membership reflects the multisectoral and multidisciplinary nature of CFN’s research program.

The Citizen Engagement Committee reports to the Scientific Director and Chief Executive Officer, assisting CFN in ensuring patients, family caregivers and the broader community are involved in CFN strategic and operations planning, and in improving the patient and family experience in the work it undertakes and funds.

The Education & Training Committee reports to the Board through the Scientific Director, and advises on the development and implementation of a strategy to recruit and train Highly Qualified Personnel (HQP). The Chair of the Committee sits on the RMC.
Chair: Dr. Denise Stockley, Professor, Faculty of Education, and Researcher in Residence in the Office of Health Science Education, Faculty of Health Sciences, Queen’s University.
The International Scientific Advisory Committee reports to the Scientific Director and Chief Executive Officer, advising on the relevance and quality of the science used within CFN, and on potential international collaboration and partnership opportunities.

The Knowledge Translation Committee reports to the Board through the Scientific Director, and advises on the development, implementation and progress of KT activities within the Network. The Chair of the Committee sits on the RMC.
Chair: Dr. Jayna Holroyd-Leduc, Associate Professor, Departments of Medicine and Community Health Sciences, and Program Director, Geriatric Medicine Training Program, University of Calgary
The Scientific Review Committee ensures the quality and focus of Network research by providing the Research Management Committee with input on research proposals through a formative peer review process. The Chair of the Committee sits on the RMC.
Chair: Dr. Richard Hall, Professor of Anesthesia, Medicine and Pharmacology and Associate Professor of Surgery at Dalhousie University, and a staff anesthesiologist at the QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax
