Eamer, Gilgamesh

Gilgamesh Eamer, MD, BSc, BComm University of Alberta

At the age of 13 Dr. Eamer spent a year traveling through North and Central America with his parents, living in Honduras for eight months. While there his father was shot in an attempted car-jacking, and it was that day he decided to become a surgeon. He attended the University of Alberta, completing a BSc in Genetics and BComm in Finance. Dr. Eamer then completed his MD through the University of British Columbia in the Northern Medical Program. He has since returned to the University of Alberta to complete a combined general surgery residency and MSc in Health Policy and Management focusing on an economic evaluation of an elder-friendly surgical unit.
