Dr. Patricia Hewston is a post-doctoral fellow at the GERAS Centre for Aging Research within the Department of Medicine at McMaster University. Dr. Hewston has great promise as an international leader to advance frailty clinical care and research with her training as a registered occupational therapist (College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario) and rehabilitation scientist (Queen’s University – PhD Rehabilitation Science). With a strong foundation in aging and mobility, Dr. Hewston has taken a leadership role in the design and implementation of the GERAS Dancing for Cognition and Exercise (DANCE) program for older adults with early cognitive decline and frailty. As a CFN interdisciplinary fellow her work will aid in the wide-scale adoption of GERAS DANCE program as a sustainable platform of products and services aimed to improve the lives of older adults across Canada.
