2016 CFN Interdisciplinary Fellow — Supervisor: Andrew Costa

Matthew began his career working as a paramedic in Eastern Ontario.  During that time he completed his undergraduate degree in Geography, concentrating in Geomatics and applying this to paramedic service deployment planning. He then completed his MA in Geography, investigating spatial-temporal patterns of repeated users of paramedic services. His interest in health services research led to his PhD studies in the Health Research Methodology program at McMaster University. His research seeks to improve patient outcomes and service provision through the integration of health data in order to identify risk factors and patient trajectories as elderly patients navigate through multiple health services.
