2013 Knowledge Synthesis Grant — Assessing Quality of Life (QoL) Measures for Elderly Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Survivors: A Systematic Review (KS 2013-01)

Dr. Donna Ouchterlony is Director of the Head Injury Clinic at St. Michael’s Hospital, the largest head injury clinic in Canada. She has extensive clinical expertise in traumatic brain injuries, and founded the first Neurorehabilitation Clinic in Canada (second in North America), acting as its director for 29 years. She then moved to Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre to work with the Neurosurgery and Trauma staff to work with the brain injured in acute care and provide a smooth transition to active rehabilitation, co-founding the Sunnybrook and Women’s College Health Sciences Centre Head Injury Clinic with Dr. Anthony Feinstein. She assumed directorship of the Head Injury Clinic at St. Michael’s Hospital in 1997 and has since made it the largest of its kind in Ontario. She is presently involved with several research projects in the areas of early management of dizziness in head injury, using biomarkers to detect mild head injury, the use of the internet to treat depression in head injury, and treating head injury in the homeless.
