Dr. Nancy Salbach is a physical therapist, Associate Professor, and CIHR New Investigator in the Department of Physical Therapy at the University of Toronto. She is also affiliated with Toronto Rehabilitation Institute-UHN and St. John’s Rehab-Sunnybrook. Dr. Salbach obtained BSc degrees in Physiology and Physical Therapy at McGill University and practised clinically at the Montreal General Hospital before pursuing graduate studies. She completed an MSc degree in Rehabilitation Science and a PhD degree in Epidemiology and Biostatistics at McGill University and a postdoctoral fellowship in Knowledge Translation at the University of Toronto. Her research aims to improve understanding of issues with implementing rehabilitation best practices and community-based exercise programs targeting balance and mobility among older adults. She co-chairs a writing group to update the Canadian Stroke Best Practice Recommendations.
