Joyce is currently a member of the Oversight and Advisory Committee of the Patient Voices Network (PVN), administered by BC Patient Safety and Quality Council (BCPSQC). In 1954, she received her Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Science from the University of Saskatchewan, and in 1955 she was certified as a Registered Technologist with the Canadian Society of Laboratory Technology. Joyce has previously worked as a Research Technologist under aegis of the Department of Medical Genetics at the University of British Columbia, as well as being employed as a medical technologist in a private clinic at the Children’s Hospital (Vancouver) and the TB Sanatorium (Saskatoon).
