Patricia Strachan first joined McMaster University in 1986 as a Staff Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit. She is currently an Assistant Professor in the School of Nursing. She has completed a Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship with the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario and a Strategic Training Fellowship in the FUTURE Program for Cardiovascular Nurse Scientists. Patricia has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from McMaster University, a Master of Science from the University of Guelph, and a Doctor of Philosophy from McMaster University. She has been a Principle Investigator on CIHR funded projects and a co-investigator on CIHR and HSFO research projects. Her primary research interests include heart failure, end of life care, communication and rural health. Patricia is a member of the Advisory Board for the Cardiac and Vascular Nursing Science Unit at Hamilton Health Sciences.
