CFN appears before House Standing Committee on Health

April 25, 2013

What happens when chronic diseases progress until the end of life is inevitable despite all our efforts and the person becomes very sick? How can technology help?

In seeking answers to questions like these, the House of Commons Standing Committee on Health invited Technology Evaluation in the Elderly to participate in the dialogue by appearing as a witness. The Committee is conducting a study of technological innovation, including best practices, in health care in Canada.

Dr. Richard Birtwhistle, Interim Scientific Director, appeared before the Committee today, and elaborated on how CFN is working to foster research and dissemination of information to ensure the appropriate use of health care technologies  that fulfill the patient’s wishes.
