Network Seeks Scientific Director

The Canadian Frailty Network seeks an exceptional leader with the vision to effect positive change in discovery, practice and policy in Canada to be its Scientific Director. The Network was established in July 2012 as one of Canada’s national Networks of Centres of Excellence (NCE)…“To improve the care of the seriously ill elderly patients and their families through the development, rigorous evaluation and ethically guided implementation of health care technologies.”
 
Reporting to the Board of Directors, this person will foster collaborations with: scientists in Canada and abroad; policy-makers in the legislative and care sectors; and, corporate and NGO partners. This activity will include building and facilitating a cohesive, targeted research program to achieve the strategic objectives of the Network.
 
In close cooperation with Queen’s University, the Network operates as a not-for-profit corporation with an independent Board of Directors and independent auditors. The Network has secured funding from NCE over five years until April 2017.
