Research and KT
Improving evidence through research and knowledge translation
CFN funds research and knowledge translation projects that demonstrate potential for widespread adoption of frailty screening and transforming clinical practices involving care for older adults living with frailty.
Building on the strong base of research funded by CIHR, NSERC, and SSHRC, CFN-supported teams engage older adults and their family/friend caregivers, clinicians, health and social care professionals and other knowledge users, and involve trainees directly in the research. Teams also seek support from external partners to accelerate the adoption and implementation of project results.
How our research program is managed
The Research Management Committee guides, manages and monitors the research program. Committee members reflect the pan-Canadian, multi-sectorial and multidisciplinary nature of our research mandate.
A CFN Scientific Review Committee ensures scientific excellence through a robust peer review process, and the CFN Knowledge Translation Committee ensures that promising research reflects CFN’s knowledge translation and citizen engagement priorities.
