Dr. Nick Daneman is a Scientist in the Evaluative Clinical Sciences Platform and the Trauma, Emergency and Critical Care Research Program at Sunnybrook Research Institute in Toronto, and is an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto. He completed his BASc at McMaster University, and his MD, MSc in Clinical Epidemiology, and post-graduate certification in internal medicine and infectious diseases at the Unviersity of Toronto. His research program uses hospital- and provincial-level data to optimize prediction, prevention and treatment of hospital-acquired infections, particularly with vulnerable older adults. Specific themes include antibiotic stewardship and resistance, hospital-acquired infections, Clostridium difficile, infections of critical care and bacteremia.
