2013 Interdisciplinary Fellowship Program Supervisor — Shannon Cunningham, PhD, MA, BA — Evaluation of Advanced Care Planning Information Tools with Seriously-Ill Elderly Patients: A Qualitative Approach

Dr. Davison is an Associate Professor, Division of Nephrology, in the University of Alberta Faculty of Medicine, and has cross appointments with the John Dossetor Health Ethics Centre and the Institute of Health Economics. She is a clinical nephrologist and bioethicist, and serves as the Medical Director for the Peritoneal Dialysis Program. Dr. Davidson completed her undergraduate and medical degrees at the University of Calgary, and a Masters in Bioethics at the University of Toronto Joint Centre for Bioethics. Along with administrative and clinical responsibilities, Dr. Davison’s research focuses on pain and symptom management, advance care planning, spirituality and other end-of-life issues for patients with chronic kidney disease and how these aspects of care impact health policy.  She is active internationally giving talks on renal palliative care and acting as a consultant with respect to developing and integrating end-of-life care policy for nephrology programs.
