Dr. Serge Dumont is a professor in the School of Social Work at Université Laval, where he also obtained a PhD in Counseling. He is also the Scientific Director at the CIUSSS de la Capitale-Nationale and a Researcher with the Équipe de Recherche Michel-Sarrazin en Oncologie psychosociale et Soins palliatifs (ERMOS). Dumont’s research covers the field of palliative care, specifically continuity of care, the economic burden, ethics, the experience of families caring for end-of-life loved ones and social policy analysis.
