Alexis F. Turgeon practices Critical Care Medicine and Anesthesia at the Centre Hospitalier Affilié Universitaire de Québec (CHU de Québec) in Québec City, is an Assistant Professor and Director of Research of the Division of Critical Care Medicine and the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine at Université Laval. He is also the Associate Director of the Population Health and Optimal Health Practices Research unit of the CHU de Québec Research Centre. He obtained his medical degree at Université Laval, and completed a master’s degree in Clinical Epidemiology following his residency in Anesthesiology. He then pursued clinical training in Critical Care Medicine at the University of Ottawa and a research fellowship in the Clinical Epidemiology Unit at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute. Dr. Turgeon’s research program focuses on the evaluation of the neurological prognosis in critically ill patients with severe traumatic brain injury and on the comprehension of level of care decisions in neurocritically ill patients.
