Dr. Andrew Costa is an Assistant Professor and Schlegel Research Chair in Clinical Epidemiology & Aging in the Department of Clinical Epidemiology & Biostatistics at McMaster University. In addition, he serves as the Research Lead at the DeGroote School of Medicine, Waterloo Regional Campus. Also, as an interRAI Fellow, Costa is involved in the Network of Excellence in Acute Care (iNEAC), leading the Emergency Department Working Group. In 2007, Costa obtained his Bachelor of Science degree (Hons.) in Health Studies and Gerontology, followed by completion of his PhD in 2013, both at the University of Waterloo. Costa’s research interests include evidence-based care and policy in seniors and geriatric care, development of better senior care models in home and community care, emergency departments, and acute care and funding and performance systems in seniors’ health care reform.
