Andrea Mayo is from East Hants, Nova Scotia and did her undergraduate and Masters degree at the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton, New Brunswick. Andrea’s undergraduate degree was a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and her Masters degree was a Master’s in Exercise and Sports Science under the supervision of Dr. Danielle Bouchard. Andrea’s Masters thesis was about the comprehensive approach to physical activity and how a novel approach to physical activity my affect physical function outcomes in aging adults. Furthering her education, Andrea is now pursuing a PhD in Health at Dalhousie University under the supervision of Dr. Olga Theou. Andrea’s current research is looking at lifestyle behaviors in Canadian aging adults and seeing how they may affect a frailty index overtime. Andrea’s interest is in health promotion, physical activity, and providing quality of life during the aging process.
