Canadian Summit on Geroscience

The Canadian Frailty Network (CFN) and CIHR Institute of Aging (CIHR IA) hosted their first ever Geroscience Summit in downtown Toronto, Ontario on Thursday, October 26, 2023. The Summit sought to help chart the path forward for translational geroscience in Canada. The Summit was a pre-conference event at the Canadian Association on Gerontology’s annual conference. Seniors Expo: Aging Well Together!

Seniors Month was celebrated June 1, 2023 at the Seniors Expo, hosted by the Loyalist Family Health Team & Loyalist Township at the WJ Henderson Recreation Centre

The KFL&A Centre for Healthy Aging was present at the event, where you could learn about programs and services in the area to support healthy, social, and active aging at home.

Aging Well Together: Centre for Healthy Aging KFL&A Launch

CFN and our local partners welcomed the KFL&A community to the free Aging Well Together event in November, 2022. Area residents learned about the many healthy aging supports in the KFL&A area, as well as about the Centre for Healthy Aging and its associated AVOID Frailty Program for Healthy Aging. Showcase of Research & Implementation to Improve the Lives of Older Adults

CFN partnered with the New Brunswick Health Research Foundation, Healthy Seniors Pilot Projects, and the New Brunswick Collaborative for Healthy Aging and Care to host a community-focused Showcase in Fredericton, NB. This hybrid event brought together hundreds of people excited about improving the lives of older adults to learn about innovative research, knowledge translation, and implementation happening in New Brunswick. Partnered Events with the Canadian Association for Retired Peoples (CARP)

CFN partnered with CARP in events across the country to discuss issues concerning seniors and older Canadians living with frailty as part of the CARP National Preventative Health & Aging Educational Series. Click here to see event details.

Cross-country Collaboration Tour Events 

CFN re-engaged with citizens, researchers, partners and policy makers to refine our understanding of their needs, to incorporate in our strategic planning.
