Dr. Afilalo is a Clinician-Scientist in the Division of Cardiology and Centre for Clinical Epidemiology at the Jewish General Hospital, McGill University. Dr. Afilalo obtained both MD and his MSc in Epidemiology from McGill University. His contributions have been recognized by the Royal College Gold Medical for Research and the Canadian Cardiovascular Society Young Investigator Award 2nd Prize. Dr. Afilalo is the founding director of the McGill Geriatric Cardiology Fellowship Program and co-chair of the American College of Cardiology Geriatric Cardiology Section Research Working Group. His research program is devoted to the assessment and treatment of frailty to improve the outcomes in older adults suffering from cardiovascular disease.
