Marie-Elaine Delvin, MSc

Marie-Elaine Delvin is currently a primary health care nurse practitioner who is a PhD student at Queen’s University, School of Nursing in Kingston. She teaches the Ontario Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioner Program at the University of Ottawa. Marie-Elaine completed a Masters in the Science of Nursing with a graduate diploma in primary health care for nurse practitioners at the University of Ottawa having previously graduated with a nursing degree from the Université de Montréal. She is bilingual, fluent in French and English and has presented at various conferences in both languages. Through her work experience, Marie-Elaine has developed an interest in caring for vulnerable and disadvantaged populations. Her research focusses primarily on care provision by the nurse practitioner to enhance the health of the aging population, particularly with respect to frail adults in diverse primary care health care settings.  She is committed to interprofessional collaboration and wishes to develop knowledge supporting these models of care to improve client-centered health services.

Promoting a critical social justice perspective through nurse practitioner role development enhancing health care provision through research is the primary objective of Marie-Elaine’s work.
