Dr. Jim Kutsogiannis is a Professor in the Division of Critical Care Medicine in the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry at the University of Alberta. He is currently the Medical Director of the Neurosciences Intensive Care Unit, University of Alberta Hospital, and an attending physician in the Intensive Care Unit at Royal Alexandra Hospital. He is the Medical Director of the HOPE (Human Organ Procurement Exchange) Program. Dr. Kutsogiannis obtained his BSc (Honours Biochemistry) and MD from Queen’s University, and his MHS (Clinical Epidemiology) from the Johns Hopkins School of Hygiene and Public Health. He is the Director of the RAH Critical Care Research Group. His research interests include neurocritical care, organ donation, ICU nutrition, high perioperative risk management, acute renal failure, cardiac arrest, and end-of-life care.
