2018 Catalyst Grant Program — Promoting intersectoral collaboration to support older adults living with frailty with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the community (CAT 2018-35)
Dr. Lynn Martin is a Professor and Chair of the Department of Health Sciences at Lakehead University. She is an Associate Fellow of interRAI, an international consortium of researchers aiming to improve the quality of life of vulnerable persons through use of a comprehensive integrated assessment system, and a member of its International Network of Excellence in Mental Health. Dr. Martin co-led the development of the interRAI Intellectual Disability (ID) assessment instrument, which has been mandated for use by governments in several jurisdictions worldwide.
Dr. Martin’s research interest focus on vulnerable population health, intellectual and developmental disabilities, older adults, frailty, mental health, and health and social services. Her work aims to build community capacity through use of person-directed approaches to planning, and to enhance the ability of individuals to meaningfully participate in decision-making about their services.
