Dr. Goldie Nejat is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at the University of Toronto. She is the founder and director of the Autonomous Systems and Biomechatronics Laboratory and the Director of the Institute for Robotics and Mechatronics (IRM) also at the University, and an Adjunct Scientist at the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute. Dr. Nejat received her PhD and undergraduate degree from the University of Toronto. She has been developing service/assistive robots and devices for a number of applications including those in healthcare/medical, manufacturing, surveillance, security and search and rescue fields for over the past decade.
