She has held various leadership roles in medical education at both the University of Alberta, and now the University of Calgary’s medical schools. Dr. Tan was named as one of the “Top 40 Under 40” Class of 2017 by Calgary’s Avenue Magazine in October, 2017 for her work in advance care planning and community-based palliative care. She includes copious coffee drinking, reading, photography and music as her outlets, and is most proud of being able to accompany her young son on the piano for his violin performances.
