José Velasco

As a former economist working for the Ministry of Health in Quebec for 30 years, Jose has a comprehensive understanding of the Canadian Health System. This experience and personal experience dealing with aging family members makes him very aware of the impending cost and resources needed for older Canadians. Since retiring, Jose has been a member of the non-profit organization Collectif 55+ that is in the process of forming a committee of young retirees to examine available services in the province of Quebec (homecare services, public and private care). Jose hopes his experience and insight can help contribute to influencing healthcare policy makers ensure our healthcare system is sustainable for many years to come.
