Congratulations to Gloria Gutman on her appointment to the Order of Canada!

Gloria Gutman, PhD, FCAHS, C.M., O.B.C., LLD(Hon.)

On December 30, 2016, His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, announced that Dr. Gloria Gutman, CFN Research Management Committee Member and Network Investigator, had been appointed as a Member of the Order of Canada “for her research and leadership in the field of gerontology and for her advocacy against elder abuse.”

Gloria will be invited to accept her insignia at a ceremony to be held at a later date.

The Order of Canada was established in 1967, during Canada’s centennial year, to recognize outstanding achievement, dedication to the community and service to the nation. Over the past 50 years, more than 6,600 people from all sectors of society have been invested into the Order.
